History of Type One Diabetes Foundation

Type One Diabetes Foundation, a national non-profit support system for families living with Type 1 diabetes, began as a small community support group in East Texas.  Tyler Type One was formed in January of 2010 by family and friends of the Type 1 community in order to support one another in the daily challenges associated in living with Type 1 diabetes, also known as Juvenile Onset Diabetes.  By the Fall of 2012, the small community support group had grown into a national non-profit organization with affiliates in Texas and California.

In February of 2013, several families living with Type 1 diabetes in Ruston, Louisiana,  decided to join Type One Diabetes Foundation and established an affiliate for the Ruston community and surrounding areas.
